SPX Names President of Transformer Solutions Business
CHARLOTTE, NC, July 24, 2013 – SPX Corporation (NYSE: SPW) has named William (Bill) Hegeman as President of the SPX Transformer Solutions business unit. SPX Transformer Solutions, Inc., formerly Waukesha Electric Systems, Inc., is one of the largest manufacturers of power transformers in the United States and a leading supplier of transformer and LTC services and components.
Bill has served as the interim president of SPX Transformer Solutions, Inc. since late March, in addition to serving as Vice President Finance and CFO of the business since April, 2005. Prior to SPX, Bill was the president of Diversified Assembly Technology Corporation and provided leadership for Best Power, a former SPX business, where he held the positions of GM, CFO and Vice President Finance. Earlier in his career, Bill held finance roles with Snap-On Tools and Appleton Paper, Inc. “Bill’s manufacturing management experience and knowledge of this business will be an ideal fit for our company in this challenging business climate,” says Laurie Smaglick Johnson, SPX Transformer Solutions vice president, chief marketing and sales officer. “We all look forward to continuing our tradition of building strong customer relationships and providing superior quality products and services with Bill at the helm.”
